Anita’s room

This room is named after the estate’s former hostess, Anita Borup-Nordenswan.

Anita moved to Soiniitty in the 1950s, started a family of four children with Henrik, and took on the role of managing the estate. She handled the farm work, paid the wages, and made all the decisions—except when it came to the garden, which was her husband Henrik’s responsibility. Anita was a strong-willed woman, an active member of associations, and involved in politics. She also knew how to represent the family. She often accompanied her husband to paper industry conferences and other official events. The wedding dress in the room belonged to Anita, and the 1920s wedding shoes belonged to her mother, Anita Ebba.
